Evolving over the past 4 years due to the involvement of both Australian Ni-Vanuatu Black Birding descendants – http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blackbirding and Rugby League followers here in Vanuatu – including Vanuatu Kava Store staff, the VRL have now played 3 test matches against s Greece, The Solomon Islands and the Philippines. They have also been involved in 9 aside matches against Australian regional teams, even making it to the final of their first tournament where they played against an Australian Indigenous side with NRL players in it.
